Good to know
Existing-text editing works only when a text object can be safely matched and removed from the PDF page. Complex text layouts and scanned-image PDFs are not supported for text editing. Interactive-form PDFs are rejected to avoid losing fields. Whiteout is visual only and must not be used for confidential redaction.

Can I edit a PDF for free without signing up?

Can I replace existing PDF text?
Yes, for supported text-based PDFs. The editor removes the selected source text object and writes searchable replacement text; it does not claim to edit every font or complex layout.
Can I edit text in a scanned PDF?
Not yet. Scanned-image text needs OCR, which is not available in this editor.
Does whiteout securely redact information?
No. Whiteout is a visual cover and the underlying text may still be recoverable.
